The 1000th Instagram
It’s not Monday, but this marks a special moment for our contributors on Instagram. We have officially reached 1000 photos. The photo above is the 1000th image and it’s by our Lens Wipe superfan Joseph Ferreira (username josephferreira on Instagram). Thank you Joe for being number 1000 and thank you all for the contributions!
When we started late last year with the Instagram group, I’ve had the pleasure seeing many, many talented photographers post awesome images. It’s been very inspiring, entertaining and a real thrill that we started something special.
If you are an Instagrammer and would like to contribute, all you need to do is to add #LW in your comments and you’re in!

The Lens Wipe Crew - not pictured: Jessica Belshan, Civilized People)
When Mod Bern and I started The Lens Wipe, all we envisioned was a funny audio show about photography. But it’s grown so much. Sure, we’ve had some bumps in the road, but the Lens Wipe has a life of its own. We never thought we’d have the amount of listeners. And we have a great cast that help the show tremendously!

Here we go, back on schedule. Instagram Monday is actually coming out on a Monday! We have this week’s group of photographers, but before I do, I just want to say this: As much as I love Instagram, I really can’t stand their popular page. It’s filled with people stealing other photos, pretend celebs, and just boxes of text. I know that they have a special algorithm that puts someone on the pop page, but text? Really?
Anyways, rant is over. Here are the TALENTED photographers of Instagram.

Google blacks out logo to protest SOPA
I know this is not a post on photography, but it is very much related to this site and all web sites. Today many web sites are blacking out their sites to protest the U.S. Congress on the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) legislation. This legislation goes too far. In a nutshell, it stomps all over the United States Constitution in a very big way. There is plenty of documentation on the web if you want to read up on it.
